The Unassyn, or 'Light of Blades', is an eldar tactic commonly employed as a hit and run manoeuvre or assassination. The attack relies upon a hail of shrapnel from catapults and cannons to eliminate sections of enemy infantry while lances unleash the fury of a morning star. The elements of the Unassyn must be highly mobile, usually consisting of a high number of aspect warriors, delivering death to sections of the opposition at a time.
According to Apseraph mythology, Prince Unassyn was a member of the Court or Seers due to birth and psychic ability. He often would tread one of the warrior paths for a century at a time, and he rose in the admiration of the exarchs and autarch. When a maiden world in the Phasian System was under siege by a Keeper of Secrets, Unassyn travelled the webway to fight the daemon. He told the others of a dream, in which he watched a great eldar hero consumed by an agent of She Who Thirsts. Unassyn assembled a warhost armed exclusively with silver ammunition and laser lances. He struck the deamon host at dawn, descending from the light of the sun, piercing into the unnatural night. Unassyn rode a jetbike, its leading edge his Singing Spear, into the heart of the enemy, directly at the Keeper of Secrets. The intensity of the laserfire refracting off silver was a second dawn leaving no possibility of shadow. Although Unassyn was lost, the greater deamon was slain and its armies shattered.
