From the Field 02: Terraforming...then War!

I would like to thank this man, for inviting me (and the Rabbit Hole's terrain) to GottaCon, here he is terraforming. This was probally the easiest part if his weekend, as he is the (most high) coordinator of the 40k, Fantasy and LoTR tournaments. The logistics of organizing 100 wargamers must be nuts, so cheers to his efforts!
Here is a look at some of the tables that will host our little war.
Had the chance to play a pick-up game against Tau on the ork table, not a mon-keigh for miles.
Jungle/crash site...
Paul's partly-overgrown Imperial ruins.
The altar to the Scheming Godzilla.
The eldar table made it....
...as did the tyranid's...
...and of course Death Mountain.
Samalander's jungle now spans five tables!
The apocalypse battle was loud and rowdy, and then I was derailed by Monsterocalypse and gawking at models.
When things got too quiet we started hunting zombies...mmmmmm
The next day the eldar were put to work as the tournament began. First game, Iron Hands.
It was a great game, my walkers even saw some combat (lol), ended with a draw.
The second game was against the witch-hunters, who brought nine immolators. Sadly, my elves were crispy...
We did deal a satisfying amount of damage to each other, but the eldar lost the squig. Mind you, we don't have much of an appetite for squigs.
Third game was on the church table (one of mine), defending it against the Khorne-convoy. I think my eldar were offended, seeing tanks of the blood god on Rabbit Hole road, they knocked out the Land Raider first turn. After an epic battle between Kharn and Jaher, the game was lost due to a fluffy move.

Thems the beans, to bad it has to end...
Ricalope.

From the Field 01: GottaCon in T minus....

The doors open in eight hours. Varnish is drying. Packing begins. Above you will see my survival kit. Clockwise from the cup; Magic cards, Zombies!!!, bag of d6's and templates, 40k rules, Pocky!, tWo, emergency brushes, bits to be glued back onto terrain, mini medic (superglue), black acrylic, bag of polyhedrons. Not shown is all the coffee and munchies to fuel this rampage.
Loading of the Black Box. The case is loaded with the Unassyn, and Dice Bag's paintcomp entries.
And finally, Oden Primary, a mountain of terrain with a mountain on top.

See you soon fellow geeks,
Ricalope.

Unassyn

The Unassyn, or 'Light of Blades', is an eldar tactic commonly employed as a hit and run manoeuvre or assassination. The attack relies upon a hail of shrapnel from catapults and cannons to eliminate sections of enemy infantry while lances unleash the fury of a morning star. The elements of the Unassyn must be highly mobile, usually consisting of a high number of aspect warriors, delivering death to sections of the opposition at a time.

According to Apseraph mythology, Prince Unassyn was a member of the Court or Seers due to birth and psychic ability. He often would tread one of the warrior paths for a century at a time, and he rose in the admiration of the exarchs and autarch. When a maiden world in the Phasian System was under siege by a Keeper of Secrets, Unassyn travelled the webway to fight the daemon. He told the others of a dream, in which he watched a great eldar hero consumed by an agent of She Who Thirsts. Unassyn assembled a warhost armed exclusively with silver ammunition and laser lances. He struck the deamon host at dawn, descending from the light of the sun, piercing into the unnatural night. Unassyn rode a jetbike, its leading edge his Singing Spear, into the heart of the enemy, directly at the Keeper of Secrets. The intensity of the laserfire refracting off silver was a second dawn leaving no possibility of shadow. Although Unassyn was lost, the greater deamon was slain and its armies shattered.

See you at GottaCon!

Daily Lope 04

Scratch-build rules, not proxies or stand-ins, homemade awesomeness. Here are three of the datasheets that I ave done up so far (the blank one is available for download at the GW site). First, Charion the 609th's medivac (medic's datasheet coming soon).
The Ciaphas Vanquisher was a smaller super-heavy designed for the Oden PDF, mainly used for (apocalyptic) street fights. I need to finish this guy.
And, the Beer Wagon.

What are your thoughts? Balanced/unbalanced?
In the near future I hope to post datasheets for Swimming Eagle's super-heavy walker and the dreaded Quadraped, amid other things...
See you for the next "daily",
Ricalope.
