Assault on Death Mt. - Part One

The defense of Death Mountain, part one.
Imperial forces, consisting of both Wolfram marines and guardsmen of the 609th, dug in. All stations were set to receive the airborne assault.
Wolfram devastators watch from the tower, their landraiders ready for counter-assault.
Sgt. Fluke took control of a defense weapon, "twin-linked lascannon, yes please!"
Fire filled the sky as the bombardment began. Missiles, bombs and wreckage rained from the sky.
The battlefield was warped by the destruction. The enemy seemed to be targeting the psyker chior, who broke under fire.
The gate was covered in craters but casualties were minimal. The Emperor protects.
Holes were opened in the defense line, but under the stern eye of the commissariat, Ivory platoon held.
The invaders began to hit the ground moments after the explosions. Interceptor guns awoke to spit death into the skies killing many before they hit the ground.
The Wolfram responded with their own drop troops, the entire battlefield was instantly filled with troops shooting and killing each other.
Small melees sparked up, like the loyalist terminators and the killa kans.
Gremlins were found inside the targeting auspices, possibly of a daemonic origin. Still the 609th laid down heavy firepower, from the towers Cmdr Hieneken smiled.
The traitor's vindicator was an immediate target, the Wolfram sent one of their dreadnoughts after it. The machine's daemonic hull resisted all attempts to damage it.
The choir, once fleeing, found themselves assaulted by terminators. Artios' force weapon cut down the Black Legion, but not without being wounded first.
Still, troops rained from the sky, and some tore through the fabric of reality. Deamons appeared within the compound.
The line was slowly being surrounded and isolated, the gate held, for now.
The invaders were keeping the pressure on, but the Imperials were still numerous and had plenty of ammo left.
The enemy's heavy duty drop brought big problems directly into the lines. Problems like berserkers and the quadruped. The Imperials responded with heavy firepower.
Raptors stalked the table, summoning daemons and endangering vehicles with meltaguns. With both landraiders immobilized by the barrage, the invaders were having the run of the battlefield.
Ivory II was crushed by a dual-assault from ork bikes and lesser daemons, the enemy had taken the gate.
Chaos forces began to set up their own heavy weapons and they still had reinforcements.
The Imperials were bruised, but not beaten...

S.E.

"I want to smoke a cigarette in the slag of Isstvan.

I want to feel the scorching rays of a double sun, bouncing off my mirrorshades.

I want to feel my cat-ears plastered to my head in a Zeta windstorm.

I want to spread this incendiary truth as wide as my smile."

Battle in the Old World

The stars were right, they signaled good fortune for the followers of Tzeentch. So the followers of Tzeentch brought war to the men of the Empire.
The warrior's effluent chanting clamored with the bellows of the dragon ogres causing gusts and surges in the winds of magic.
The men of the Empire arrayed themselves in a great line with knights at their core, spears on their right, and pistoleers opposite the dragon ogres.
Their feeble prayers to Sigmar were drowned out by the howls of magic, the warriors began to march forward.
Black powder weapons were loaded, hellblasters and cannons. Before the warriors great shields of sorcery began to shimmer, Tzeentch would not let his warriors fall to cowardly missile-fire.
The Eye begins to form, this is a good omen for the warriors, beneath their helms they allow themselves a smile. Flames of magic answer the Empire's fusillade, warriors on both sides begin to die.
The Eye begins to close as the dragon ogres press through the fire of the pistoleers and charge them. Men and horses are smashed apart with ease. Cannon-fire continued to target the shaggoth, eventually killing him.
The dragon ogres did not take the death of their cousin well. Unlucky for the pistoleers, being between them and the cannon.
The knights held their charge to maximize the potential of their shooting, allowing Tzeentch's warriors to charge them. Cackling like a deranged lunatic, the sorceror casts Infernal Gateway upon the unengaged knights. Reality opens up and swallows the unit, along with the Empire general. The Exalted challenges the templar hero and slays him with her daemon-blade, the Gods see this and grant her strength.
The Eye closes. The gods of fate are not kind to the artillery, a hellblaster and a cannon were the casualties of spontaneous combustion. The swordsmen were butchered, as were the marauders. The Empire was left with one massive unit of spearmen led by a priest.
The daemon prince was pleased.
The chaos general threw insults and fire at the Sigmarite, who in turn brought his unit to bear upon him.
The warriors set about butchering the remainder of the Empire artillery with single-minded purpose.
Alone, the dragon ogre champion exacts his revenge upon the cannon crew. Throw cannon-balls at my friends will you....
The daemon prince casually killed the Empire's men as his army swung around to encircle them. The Magi-cult of Tzeentch was victorious, there will be much feasting in the lodges this evening.

Battle at the River

The chaos forces were moving unhindered along the river, Farseer Nivek could stand it no-longer. Nivek led his guardians to the river, joined by the wraithlords I'mmortal and Hexonox, as well as pathfinders and a troupe of harlequins.
The mission was to deal as much damage to the chaos forces while holding ground with each guardian squad being supported by a wraithlord.
At first the chaos vehicles attempted to hide behind plumes of smoke, but the eldar guns were still taking a toll. Long-ranged fire targeted exposed infantry and slice through smoke.
The harlequins arrowed into the chaos line moments after their fusion and shrieker shots hit. The troupe launched their assault upon the hated Black Legion. In a blurr of diamonds marines began to die.
I'mmortal was taking point, and instantly earned the attentions of Mr. Huggy. The daemon prince pointed at the wraithlord and his tanks fired. The wraithlord was blasted to bits.
The chaos marines used their fell-sorcery to summon lesser daemons in an attempt to deal with the troupe.
The forward guardians were the target of much firepower, and they were destroyed. The jetbike squadron moved in to fill the gap, this only served to anger Mr. Huggy further.
With the daemons shredded, and few Legion troops left, terminators were dispatched to deal with the troupe. The massed fire of the terminators, remaining Black Legion and the havoc squad finally took them out.
The main gambit was the fight between the jetbikes and daemon prince. The warlock failed to deal the last wound to the daemon, so he cut all of them down.
The chaos forces had taken, and held, the battlefield while bringing the eldar numbers low enough to emerge victorious.
