Who We Are

Based in Victoria BC, we are a mixed group of dice-rolling gamers. As a group we try to encourage all types of interactive games and hobbies as an expressive way to enjoy ourselves.

We do it for the fun of it.

WARCHALLENGE Announce!

Over at Ricalopia I just announced the guidelines for the Warchallenge competition. Go on...head on over and take a look...

All the entries will posted down here, in the Rabbit Hole, so keep an eye out...
....AND the Rabbit Hole will host a round-about tournament (on the 23-25th of April) to showcase those shiny new forces. The overall winner of those set of games will receive a special prize too....

The gauntlet has been thrown down,

Daily Lope 03

Greetings from the Hole.

The War of the Peacock went well, that was quite the enjoyable game, thanks to everyone who took part (especially the spectators and Peacock's Billiards). I doubt that the war for the Phasian Cloud is over....

Across the pond, the Sheffield Irregulars have put up this month's painting challenge; RUBBLE! I have to admit, I was a bit confused when I first read it, but then all kinds of hobby ideas came to mind. Whatever you come up with, don't start painting it until the 3rd!

I am tossing around the idea of a paint competition. Build and paint a ten point battlegroup for Warmachine or Hordes by April 2nd. The best voted battlegroup will get a prize. The prize? How does a heavy warjack or warbeast sound, painted by myself for your collection?

Your thoughts?
Ricalope.

War of the Peacock

A peaceful, uninhabited world...

... protected for the greater good by an uneasy alliance of heretics,
xenophobes and traitors...

... set upon by brutal beasts, turncoat mutants, evil spirits...

"Contaaaaact!!!!!!"

... in the end Evil carries the day: score 21 to 16 kill points!!

Thanks to all the players and our visitors, and to Peacock Billiards. This game was nominally in celebration of my birthday and I feel thrilled at how it went :)

Daily Lope 02

As you might be able to tell, the Daily Lope isn't all that daily, but its a great name so I will stick with it. Today's topic; This Blog.

There are a few contributors; Swimming Eagle, Samalander and myself you have already met. Contributors can make posts, wherein they can inform us of events, things of note, open up conversations, or post fiction. This blog is in no way meant to take away from pre-existing blogs, in fact it is meant to encourage them. Anyone can comment, even if you don't game at the Rabbit Hole, as we value the opinions of all gamers.

Recommendations may be made to add things to the event list. Conventions, terrain parties, big a$$ed games, and what have you. Obviously, anything happening at the Rabbit Hole will be noted there, and if you are a gaming addict (or just don't want to miss games) check that space often.

So, here's to cross-posts, rants and q&a's,
Ricalope.

oh SHI############

Yaaay! I finally got craters. But so much for my remaining table. BOOM!

Craters run the line between being a counter and a terrain piece. A crater given even a tiny bit of attention will add noticeably to the feel of a Warhammer game with occurrence of blowy-uppiness.

My next goal (when I have more time) will be to drybrush the outside of each crater to suppress that plasticky glare, which I want to preserve inside the crater (it makes me think of nuclear glass!).

Last chance before gottacon

We are getting close to that wonderful event Gottacon. I for one am Excited and panicked. How about you? I still have a full unit to finish and some other models to touch up or finish. There is also a bunch of terrain I want to try to get done for then. The last weekend we have before Gottacon is Jan 29th and 30th. I am thinking that will be a terrain weekend. Most of you know what that means. Open house Terrain Party, show up any time Saturday or Sunday, Bring something to work on, or work on something already there. Lets see what we can get finished to add to the collection of terrain that the Rabbit Hole is providing for Gottacon.

About time.

I for one feel that this organisation is well overdue. Now since we have made our gaming group official, I want paraphernalia . T-shirts or Patches, coffe mugs, dice, and buisness type cards.... Now its obviosly way too late to try to get any of this together in time for Gottacon, so that all of us who are going can represent the group, but its defitly something that I want to have considered for future. In the meantime, I have fabric markers so anyone who still wants to represent Rabbit Hole Games at Gottacon can bring me a t-shirt or whatever and we will hand make the first set of paraphernalia. What ya think? Am I the only one who wants to proudly/loudly support our group at our local convention? I will also be pushing Ricalope to design buisness cards for us to hand out to any one who is interested. What would you like to see on these cards? Should it have each of our blog adresses on it or should it just be simple and sweet and just have the Rabbit Hole Games web adress on it?

Daily Lope 01

Thought I would start off with a real post. Good day to you all.

Many of you only have 17 days left until GottaCon, who is going to be there? How are your projects doing? Well, here are how mine fare;
- Death Mtn. almost painted....
- Eldar table. Two pieces left...to build....
-Tyranid table. 2 to build, 2 to finish painting.
- 40k tournament army. Ready, with the possible exceptions of some touch ups.
- Dice Bag's paint competition. Single model finished, squad finished, large almost done.
- Energy and Health. Almost there (most likely take a sick day...lol)
- Gamer Kit. Not even started the list.

Actually, that was a lot more "finished"s than I thought there would be....

First Post
